Been Awhile!

Hey there, everyone. I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated folks on what’s been going on in writing and personally. A lot has happened over the past year that has influenced my writing journey.

PERSONAL

On a personal level, my daughter and writing partner, Deanna Milda, won the title of Miss USD Tiospaye Princess. She represented the University of South Dakota’s pow wow from April 2023 to April 2024. Needless to say, that meant a lot more weekends away at pow wows and less time to write. I don’t regret it, though. I have enjoyed watching her dance this past year. We have one more pow wow at the Mul-Cha-Tha in Sacaton, Arizona before she relinquishes her title It will be a first for both of us. On a sadder note, my ex-mother-in-law, Deanna Stops at Pretty Camps, passed away in May 2023, and that was really hard on all of us. She was the matriarch of the family. I sort of lost my mojo for a bit, but I feel I got it back.

WRITING

In regards to writing, Deanna and I have been working on our paranormal romance trilogy, Eternally Destined. I’m so excited for it. It follows the interconnected lives of three supernatural beings, a reluctant shifter, a native vampire, and a mischievous warlock. Their friendship would span centuries. The first book is Midnight and will be out in a few months. I’m finishing up book 2 (Kariwase) and then will write Book 3 (Thaddeus). We aren’t going to publish them until all are finished since they are interconnected. We don’t want any plot issues. Don’t worry, though. They are all completely mapped out and won’t take long to finish. Once the trilogy is done, I will be finishing up the final book in the Diakrisis Tales and then the third book in the Talionic Files. It will be a busy writing year.

Where can you find me? Well, I will be at seven different signings this year. The first was Romance Atlanta, which I attended last week. My next stop will be the Capital City Author Event in Mongomery, Alabama, on May 18th. The next will be at UtopiaCon in Nashville, Tennesse, on June 21st-22nd. Then, I’ll be headed to Orlando Reads Books in Orlando, Florida, on October 10th-12th. Finally, I will finish up at the Indie Romance Convention on October 24th-26, in Lebanon, Tennesse.
